ok, how many of you have installed a set of NSRs??? I have all the special tools at work to do this, and i love the idea of no new springs. what i need to know is how difficult of an install, how much time to install, and any tips or tricks to look out for?? thanks, im just getting a heads up before the install.

There was a thread about this about a month ago. Overall, the gains weren't super impressive, at least to the majority of us.
I saw on another forum a member claimed 40 RWHP with NSR cams and Kooks long tubes and a dynotune.
I'm still waiting on a friend of mine's to check on the FRPP hot rod cams. He works for ROUSH at one of our local dealers, hopefully he can get some reliable inside info.
When you to the install...please post pics. I am going to install cams beginning of next year.

40 hp from cams, headers and tune is not very good considering you can easily get 20 just from the headers.

I was looking at the NSR's vs Comp Stage3's at Brenspeed too, and do not believe the claimed 25-30 from the NSRs. That is most likely just the Comp Stage2's that Brenspeed is selling, while they actually did install the Stage3's and posted a dyno result here. I'm going with the Stage3's, even though it requires professional installation. The DIY route just doesn't put out.
I'm not a big fan of the 'no springs required' thing. I want to know that my valves aren't going to float.

What kind of gains do you hope to get out of the Stage 3's?

Like I said in the previous post.... Brenspeed posted 38 hp with the Stage3's with the usual mods (Cai, tune, exhaust, udp).

That was with adding a throttle body too. It was 31 with just the cams.
how you guys doing. I believe there was a thread on this forum about three guys going to brenspeed one day last summer. The thread starter had the NSR cams installed and posted his dyno results. does anyone know what thread im talking about and where I can find it.

also 20hp from long tubes on a 3v? good luck with that.

And, 20 rwhp with the right tune (and a previously installed intake) is easily done. Headers by themselves, no.
Thanks for hookin me up with the link.

I think its my car that he was talking about gainig 40 with the cams and kooks. I gained 42 actually. The cams are a great modification. its totally different car now and it cant be measured by just looking at peak to peak gains. there is more to performance than that. look at it this way at 6500rpms i gained 50hp. your probably peaking at 5750. your shifting while im still pulling hard for another 700 rpms. thats what cams do for you.

catted kooks with x pipe. 12hp ......2000 dollars after labor. the power gains for nsr cams that cost $1000 after labor make lt's on a 3v look like the waste of money.

anyways take it easy and thanks again for the link.
no thats not the link i meant. this guy had a dyno sheet and a vid of his car idling after the install gained about 30 with nsr cams. his freind got a saleen s/c the same day. the other guy got LT's or something. Maybe it was a different forum.

I have a fully forged 298 ci stroker with heads and cams and am making power to almost 7000 rpm. ;)

That was me, I went up with 2 friends that had the NSR cams installed. Another friend picked up his the same day with a Saleen install.
I just had a dyno/custom tune done on mine.
