Hey guys, my power window motor just took a dump on my over the weekend. So I ordered a new motor, I was just wondering is there anything special I should know before I replace the motor. I’ve already taken off the door panel so that I could detach the old motor and put the window in the up position. Any and all info will be a great help, thanks everyone. Oh and if anyone knows where I could get a new quarter panel and (I cant remember the name, its the pillar that runs along side the window) all of this for the driver side, as well as a place that will paint it for a fair price, please let me know. I had a semi truck hit and run me on the expressway earlier this year.

sorry to hear that you got run off the road, that really sucks........nothing really special as far as replacing the motor, just take your time and install the motor with the window up..........as far as your pillar goes, and the quarter panel, check with 50resto.com, they have bout everything you would need. As far as having someone paint that pillar, just order the paint kit from 50resto and do it yourself........really easy to do......

sorry for what had happened :sosad:, I also had a similar misfortune and my motor kinda messed up too. It cost me a lot for a new replacement.. you can find quarter panel at less than $40 i think, try carpartswholesale.com i usually encounter this on the net when i shop for cheap auto parts.
Yea, I managed to put in the new motor this last weekend, it was allot of fun. The best part was the spring lol. The window it took a little longer because a friend of mine put a rivet on the wrong side of the window so it took forever to drill out. But we got it, (smart me put a bolt in the other side) lol. But all in all the window was a success, now all that’s left is the 1/4 panel and the A pillar.
Sorry this is too late of a post, but I always found that a spring clamp (from the hardware store for about $2.99) helps hold the window in the up position. You know the kind, like a clothes pin and with black plastic covered tips.

The front pillars (windshield) are A-Pillars, the pillars at the back window are C-Pillars, and guess what.....the pillars in the center of the cabin between the C-Pillars and the A-Pillars.....are B-Pillars.
