hey guys, so i have a CEL on, ran the code egr and O2 popped up. i go to change the 02, and one was hard as hell to get out, but i eventually got it out, but now i cant thread the new one in?! i think ill need to thread chase it so does anybody know the thread pitch count size?

now on to the other 02....that little booger is ON there! i couldnt remove it under the car with the space i had, so i drop the h pipe. after dropping it, i try again to remove the 02 and end up snapping my ratchet and rounding off the 02 nut with the 02 sensor socket!

ive also sprayed pb blaster and wd40 on it, waited, then slapped a vise grip on it...no go. i dont have access to a torch..so is there any other way to get this off with basic hand tools?

thanks

I tried a propane torch and gave up.Had a open end wrench on the 02 with a jack on the other end and it lifted the car.Ended up finding a cheap x pipe.Your probably going to need a shop to weld a new 02 plug.

You posting doesn't surprise me. Those O2 sensors are always hard to get out. Not only on mustangs but all cars. The exhuast is the first thing that rust. My advice buy a bbk h-pipe with cats and new o2 sensors. Gain a few hp while doing it. If you lived in a State with no emissions I would say get the off road h-pipe. You can swap the h-pipe in your driveway its easy.

im in cali, so emmissions is a pain in the ass issue...i was actually lookin at getting the magnaflow 37338 x pipe thats CARB for use in ca. and i dropped the stock h pipe already because it was easier to access the seized o2 sensor...

check the threads on the pipe real good. just did this last week (vise grip method) three ball-busting hours later i got it out. let me tell you i'm still sore from doing that! i noticed on mine the threads from the 02 came off and stayed in the pipe i just picked them out with a screw driver. at first glance it looked like i had to run a tap up there but it was the threads that came off the 02 that were just stuck in the pipe so check good you might not have to tap it.
