OEM hood scop install

I just bought an OEM Ford hood scoop and after I get it painted I'll be installing it myself. Has anyone installed a factory one themselves and how bad was it? Did you drill all nine holes or just the four with the studs coming out of the scoop? And was the factory template accurate?

My tech at the dealer installed mine as it was part of the car purchase. He used the factory template and drilled all holes that were required. Aluminum hood and plactic scoop will expand and constrict at dfferent rates. Make sure the distance on the back edge of the hood is correct with the scoop.
take pics of your install!!! :bigthumbsup
When I removed the factory hood scoop it had all the bolts plus 1/2 inch wide black double sided tape. Really stuck on...had to use a torch on the under side of the hood to unstick the tape.

So that's what it looks like...
there are some sites that have them prepainted
I will never understand why some people will pay big money for added aero drag. I do understand hoodscoops look bitchin' though, and impose a little psychological effect on the beamer sitting next to you at the light.

I like the low-profile of the scoop as well as a factory appearance, but that damn seam between the scoop and the hood screams poser...

I really don't mean to hijack this thread. Just in one of those moods.

Id rather have stickers, and a CB antenna!
I like the looks of the hood scoop but can understand ones point on the seam between the hood and the scoop. I've also added the OEM rear blackout panel and the side louvers. I really like those pieces also.

How about the Cobra roadster or the strait 07 srait Shelby(not the GT 500). They were riveted on with unsightly exposed rivets. I know it supose to be nostalgiac but the seam is minor on the 2011_2012 scoop. Drag of the scoop can be somewhat over come with superior shifting skills.:winks
