Oil burning in 2011 GT CS

227 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Snackmaster
Hi all:

I purchased my first Mustang on march 28, 2011 and have been having a blast with it. its the 2011 Mustang GT CS, 5.0 liter. at 3,000 miles my check engine light went on and Ford added 5 quarts of oil and a special dye and told me to return after 500 miles. I'm taking it in tomorrow but needless to say i'm worried sick over this problem. i would appreciate if anyone else experienced something similiar and what the outcome was.
Thanks,
Tony

Welcome to AFM! You can check out our late model sections of the forum and see if any other members have had this issue. I guess at least you're under warranty so you won't have to assume the cost of repairs. Keep us posted...

I can tell you that this is a well established issue with your car...there have been many posts of excessive oil usage
A little known fact is that all infinitis and Nissans use alot of oil...has something to do with the lightweight pistons/rings..similar to what Ford must have used in the new 5.0 to get the power up

Good info... thanks for sharing. I just haven't had a lot of time to go to our new model forums and learn about all the ins and outs of the Coyote 5.0.

Don't lose heart Tony... You've got a heck of a ride there and everything will be fine.
