well i have an 88 gt and i recently replaced the lower intake gaskets not once but twice because they must have been misaligned and i was burning coolant out my exhaust(white) now about a week ago i got everything squared away or so i thought. 1st issue my overflow tank will not put any coolant into my radiator which is about 3 inches low everytime i drive it. there is no white smoke out of my exhaust and havent seen any since last gasket replacement, no loss of power at all, no coolant leaks of any kind, no coolant in oil but today i started it without rad cap on and let it get to about 160* nothing seemed fishy so i thought i would get it to 180* so held the rpms at about 3000 and started to see coolant coming out of filler neck so checked and it was a brown color( oil in coolant?) do i have a bad head gasket? it just seems weird cuz there are no nada none signs of a head gasket...

Hat to say it but more than likely one have a blown head gasket happened to me when I had my 89 GT. There is a slight chance it could be the timing cover gasket but probably head gasket. If you change them make sure you get you heads surfaced so you don't have to change them all over again.

ok i just talked to my uncle and he said the brown i saw in my radiator was most likely just stirred up rust i just over reacted seeing that there are no symptoms at all of a bad head gasket. most likely there is a leak somewhere so i am just going to get a leak down test and see what pops up. thanks guys!!!

Leak down test will diffenantly keep you from doing extra work for no reason. Could be rust I just remembered when I got my 90 it had some of the nastiest crud inside the radiator it looked like sludge but it was just rust.
