93 fox with a 347 stroker. Today its about 93 degrees out and my mustang started running about 10-15 degrees hotter. It runs almost near 220 degrees but i try to keep it around 210. Oil pressure is getting close to 22 psi with all this heat. Usually maintains at about 30 at idle. Im running 5w30 for oil right now as i have for the last 2 weeks. Think its time to get something thicker?

I always run 10w-30 in the summer hear in new England, 22psi seems normal at idle.to me, then again. I don't have a 347.

depending on the clearances, 22 at idle with all that heat is not real bad. i would try some 10W30. why do you run it so hot?

Like Mark said, it really depends on the clearances whoever built the motor. 22 at idle is not that bad but 220 degrees is getting up there. I run 10w30 in this Miami tropical jungle heat and my car doesn't pass 210.
