My oil pressure gauge is not giving a reading but, the motor runs great no knock or ping. I have replaced the pressure sending unit and it did not fix the problem. there is no oil leak or other visual discrepancies. any suggestions???:headscratch:
yeah, the gauge is probably shot but it could be the oil pump or the pump drive. I had a Lincoln that blew the oil pump and made no noise at all until right before the engine blew on the highway(I didn't have the wire hooked up on the oil switch). I would put a mechanical gauge on the car to make sure you have pressure before you potentially waste money on a gauge.
did you buy an oem Ford sender or some parts store crap:headscratch:
1999 up Modular cars and trucks have had issues wth the oil pressure sender, located down by the oil filter housing....there have been several design changes and the latest sender part # is 6U5Z-9278-D, sells for @$10.00 and should fix your o/p issues
