Oil Pressure Sensor

Hey All,

While researching information on adding aftermarket gauges to my '14 V6 I had a thought.....if my car didn't come with the oil pressure gauge on the dash is there an actual sensor there, seeing how alot of people are "T'ing" into the factory sensor? If so, what purpose does it serve by being there and not having the actual gauge?

Yes there is. You have a sensor and if the oil pressure gets to low a red idiot light will come on, on your dash. It doesnt matter if you have a oil pressure gauge there is still a sensor there monitoring and making sure the bare essential oil pressure is there. And btw, if you are going with an after market oil gauge, invest in a sandwich adapter. It will hold both the stock and aftermarket sensors and make maintaince so much easier!

I have the factory oil pressure gauge on my 2011 v6. Its part of an 'option'. Pony Package or maybe the Preminum Package. If you want to add an aftermarket oil pressure gauge, buy a good one with instructions on how to hook everything up.
Im using a oil filter sandwich plate for my after market oil psi and oil temp gauge. Glowshift makes them they run about 30-40 bucks

Thanks for the info. I was looking at the Glow Shift adapter, seeing how thats probably the only one I could find out there....
