Ive got a stock 302 with an e303 cam. Now I was talking to a friend and he was saying that the stock oil pump shafts can strip due to changing the timing. I've never heard of this before so just wanted to see what you guys think. BTW what should my timing be at with this? 11 12 maybe even 13 degrees of timing?

I've never heard of that. The oil pump shaft is meshed with another gear I believe.

As for timing you'll hear people give you many answers such as give it as much timing as it can handle before pinging, or just 10-12 for stock and whatever else. Mine is set at 14.
