Ok so for laughs and a little self-degredation.....
for those of you who saw and anwsered my little problem with my 1986 lx 2.3....th one who lost all fire in the engine.well after some very helpful advice from a few of yall i purchased a new pickup coil-new ignition module-plugs-wires-cap-and rotor aqll to no avail....so while cursing and kicking the stupid thing while a buddy spun the motor over there like a bright shining star...the broken end of the timing belt came twirling out of the back of the timing cover....no befor yall ask how stupid am i for not checking that first,well i did (sorta) i looked through the plug in the cover and the belt looked intact.i even tried to move the belt with my trusty screwdriver and would'nt move so checked it off in my mind that it wasnt the problem...well anyway thanks guys(& girls)who offered up some help maybe i need help i'll try to start at the obvious first...thanks again...lol:bigthumbsup

Glad to see you got it.

Just for future troubleshooting ......pull the dist cap and have someone crank it over the see if the dist rotates. Cheap and easy method

We all make mistakes. No biggie. And what's cool is, eventhough your timing belt broke, since it's a 2.3L, it didn't hurt anything!
