Ok to start off, the most recent mods i had done to my car were a t-lock, 4.10s, and they threw in a sct3 tune chip. Before any of these things were done my car worked perfectly. I have a 2000 v6, 3.8 automatic.

With everything in the car was detonating pretty bad, so they thought it was a good idea to take out the chip, the detonating pretty much went away but it still pinged once or twice around 1.7-2.5k rpms.

After the chip was taken out, the car no longer will shift into 2nd, or 4th gear.

Ok, i dont know a whole lot about cars, so this information could be a little off, but this is what im getting from my mechanic.

The celanoids were not clicking on when they should of. And they wernt getting any signal. So they replaced the servos (?). Now if he forcese a signal to the celanoids they will click on. But the computer wont do it by itself.

Could someone putting in a bad tune than taking it back out fry the computer? Give me any ideas please.

It is possible to short out your ECU but I doubt that's what happened. I'd fire the mechanic you use asap and find one who knows what they're doing. The chip should work fine with your mustang and should NOT have just been pulled out when you were running like crap. Since the chip is out, I'd leave it out, return it and get a DiabloSport flash tuner and select one of their performance settings to fix the problems with your ECU. It's really hard to tell, but you really need to take your mustang to a performance shop.

+1 I have had bad experiences taking my cars to shade tree mechanics. Now I either do all of the work myself or take it to a professional performance shop to have them do the work the right way.
