Clean title with salvage history

I wouldn't pay $8500 for an '02 GT with a salvage title.

I would be leary of the salvage title thing. I don't know about NJ but in Va. that means something really bad happened to the car at sometime in its life.

I got my 02 with a salvage title for $6k and about the same on the miles. For cars that are salvaged you gotta check them out real good. I got a carfax to see what had happened and the guy I got it from had the recipts from all the parts he replaced to fix it.

There's nothing wrong with buying a salvage title vehicle if you don't care about resale value, and you're just going to mod the **** out of it. That's assuming it was fixed correctly.

It doesn't take much nowadays to total out one of these cars, with relatively minor damage.
