I have the original copper/brass radiator for my 56 fairlane, it needs to be recored and I got a quote at 250 to have it done. I also found an aftermarket 3 core aluminum radiator that is a direct fit for 209. anyone have any recommendations, suggestions and knowledge as to which route I should go and why? im thinking aftermarket aluminum because of heat dispersion but my old man keeps saying go copper because of it being heavy duty. appreciate any thoughts. im putting a 302 in it with a c4 transmission, also plan on putting an aftermarket transmission and oil cooler as well.

Usually the 'direct fit' requires some kind of isolators. That might bring up the cost a bit.

Aluminum is more susceptible to vibration FYI...

Get a OEM replacement and polish the top!

I stuck with copper for my Mustang. Ordered a radiator from these guys...

Made is the USA. Yes there are less expensive options but a couple hundred dollars to keeps a couple thousand cool is fine with me.
