Washing the car yesterday I find a spot on the front lip of the hood that is bubbling. Then I find a smaller second spot on the other side. I remember reading about this on AFM so when I'm done I do a search.

Man was I excited to see so many posts about this problem. But not just for our generation of Mustangs, but going back to 2006?

Seriously Ford? The same problem since 2006 :heha::heha:

Luckily I'm still within my 3/36 warranty so I'll take her in to get some paint work done. Not really thrilled about it, but what can you do.

So now I'll start saving my pennies for a new hood since it seems most report the problem coming back within a year.

Got any pics?

Sucks to hear about this still being a problem. I hope you get it fixed soon.

Please bring them in to your Ford dealers and have them diagnose it, RedWings. Then, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, best daytime number, and the concern your vehicle is having so I can forward it to the customer service manager for your area.

I have the bubbling but so far it's under the hood. I expect a lot of owners have the issue but don't realize it due to the fact it starts bubbling around the seams under the hood.
Make sure to make your dealer aware of this, heavyD. If you need further assistance, please contact Ford Canada at 1-800-565-3673.

You were excited to see so many posts?

Beautiful, warm, and sunny here today, so I just washed mine. As I am OCD I wipe down and dry the underside of the hood, anything in the engine bay I can get to easily, inside/under the doors jams, trunk, fuel door, etc, every time I wash, even if it's a quicky spray job.

So far no issues here.

+3 on pictures though, good info to know and keep an eye out for.

I did the same with mine and it appeared quickly...

It's got nothing to do with how you clean it it has to to with aluminum corrosion from how the metal was prepared prior to painting... some of the hoods were contaminated with iron particals somehow, which expedited the corrosion....

So glad you are OCD keep watching it...
