The paint is starting to peel from around the gas fill pipe and at the seams on the trunk (about 1 inch x 5 inches). There are no signs of corrosion or any body damage. It is as if the paint is separating from the primer. Is this a common occurrence on a 15 year old paint job and is there any way that I can slow the process short of having to paint the whole quarter panel and trunk? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.:worship

Is it peeling directly at the seams? In that case, yes it's absolutely normal. The seam sealer is a rubbery substance that continues to dry and shrink over the course of years, cracking the paint off as it goes. I've found that garage-kept cars will do this less. If that's the case, I'd expect that this won't spread beyond the seams themselves.

I think Helen (ROC) is having the same issue with hers Neil, she was into Avalon to see about it but I haven't talked to her since to see what came of it.
