Painting question

I have to shoot the metal part of my dash on my 68 mustang. It still has paint on it but it is worn and chipping. What prep work should I do to the dash to make it look nice? and how should I shoot it to get an even paint job. I have a duplicolor rattle can with one of those triggers that attaches to the top of it.

Check out page 4 of my post Giving my 72 coupe a makeover. You will see how I did it using duplicolor trim paint. It comes in a green can and can be found at any parts store. I would not recomend using the handle grip thingy. They actually dont work very well.

sand your dash down well so any place where the paint is chipped is feathered in very well. If you don't feather it, you'll see that topography in your final paint coat.
