I have a 2000 Mustang GT (auto)... The parking brake works and the warning light comes on, after pulling up many times on it (the only way the top will go up/down). How could i fix this? Any idea on the problem? Thanks
Probably dirty contacts in the switch, or just bad switch altogether. Mine does the same thing occasionally, just never been bad enough to inspire me to tear out the center console in order to deal with it.
In this case, the first thing that I would rule out is a drink spill inside the center section. Image what a sticky dried drink residue would do to the parking brake switch contacts?
Next I would inspect the convertible top raise and lower relays for water damage. The relays are located under the rear seat.
