Parts order and taking the engine out.

I have the front suspension completely removed and I’m waiting to get my new 5 lug axles and SN95 spindles. I am also placing the order for the K-member, a-arms, coilovers camber plates, full length sub-frame connectors and an engine rebuild kit today.





My dilemma is I have never removed an engine before. The buddy that is helping me has removed a couple of 4cylinders back in the day. I guess I’m wondering if there is a FAQ, instructions, tips and tricks for removing the engine. I would hate to start in on it and start removing stuff that doesn’t need to be removed or possibly breaking something.

Can anyone help a brother out?
We got the engine and trans out; while we were at it we dropped the rack and K-member also. I wish I would have know that the trans would dump 4 quarts of fluid on the floor before I took the shaft out. Now I have 50 lbs of cat litter on the floor and one confused cat. I also test fit the new Cervini's Cobra R hood. Here are some pics if you are interested.

not my favorite hood but definetly nice, yeah getting the engine and trans out, best bet would be to (if u are able to get the car up high enough) drop the k-member with engine and trans still attached, probibly the easiest way to put it back in too... and as for the 4 liters of atf on ur floor, yeah that sucks, put a sergical glove over the tail shaft seal as soon as the drive shaft comes out but i am sure this all would have been more helpful a day or 2 ago? any more questions let me know, either post here or msg me if it becomes invisable
