I am tinkering with my recently aquired '65. It was restored back in the late 70's/early 80's. I'm a noob as far as cars go, but I'm a tinkerer and can generally put things back together correctly. I currently have the front p/s fender, bumper, grill, headlamps all off.
I'm getting ready to put them all back on and I am looking for advice on products/items necessary for the reassembly.

I currently have lots of "clips nuts"
I was thinking of using rustoleum rusty metal primer on some of the inner fender areas.
And I would like to put this back together in away that will allow for disasembly as needed.

Guess you know what I am doing with my weekend.

You'll need strip-caulk to seal the gap between the fender and aprons.
Thanks for the feed back.
I have to also say thanks to Peter Rogers of TheMustangShop in San Diego. After posting this question here I drove down to talk and pick up supplies. He offered some great suggestions and didn't sell me anything I didn't need. Also, got a great tour of their showroom from Miguel.
