Perfect dual exhaust system for my mustang?

728 Views 9 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  tex117
Wassup guys I'm new to the forum posting thing but have been here plenty of time to do my own little research. Ok so I now have the money to get my exhaust don't so now I just need a couple of opinions to help out my decision.

So I'm looking to spen nothin over 600.00
I'm looking for a lion grown. Something that you can hear at idle but not raspy when you give it a push. I'm looking for the v8 sound pretty much.My top 3 choices would be Flowmaster,Borla, or Magnas.

What do you guys think will match with what I'm looking for?
Also should I do h-pipe x-pipe or straigh pipes?
All opinions are welcomed..

Thanks in advanced...G

I'll give you one, that you can listen to on your own car. You'll have 10 choices, so make them count. ( www.MustangExhaust.com ), Mike. SCT Tuner.:bigthumbsup
In my opinion definatly dont go the with the mangas! When i purchased my car it came with magnas on it, and it sounds like doo doo. Go on youtube and listen to some of the V6s with the others on it and see if you find your sound.
LOL I have magnaflows and i love the its deep but never gets raspy if your looking to get a deeper sound then go with the h pipe the x pipe will give you more rasp
I have a Pypes Violator GT catback with the Pacesetter dual exhaust adapter kit (h-pipe). My car is fairly loud and sounds mean in my opinion. The popping is there due to my poor sealing abilities, so if installed properly, it won't pop like mine.

look there is no way your gonna sound like a v8 period but it doesnt mean you cant sound good i have heard two really good set ups like frpp and mac and no matter what your gonna end up with a lil rasp some where your a a v6 thats that mine has a lil rasp for a sec but it doesnt last long. i have an x pipe so it wouldnt be as bad with an h but take a listen its on my sig. ps once you get it your gonna wanna hear it all the time :gringreen

Go to a muffler shop and have them fab up an exhaust. They can cut into your Y-pipe at the bend and run the passenger side pipe back from there, this will give an H crossever. Did this to my sisters car and she used Flowmaster 40's. Very nice sound :bigthumbsup
