Performing an arning drop?

hey all so i have been looking to modify my suspension now, i just put in new gas shocks from Monroe. what other upgrades do you think i should or could do? also i hear the shelby or arning drop gives you the best front end height for handling, i also understand that all you have to do is drill 2 new holes 1" under each of your original existing control arm mount holes and bolt back up? is there not a total re alignment involved afterwards?

Also would you recommend investing in an independent rear end or are there easier solutions to get the same performance?
