Just used Permatex Right Stuff Sealant for the first time.
After having a 'leaky' intake manifold gasket 3 times in a row!!!
This Permatex Right Stuff Sealant, stopped the leak.
I wish I would have know about it the first time.

***Thanks to all of you who recommended it!!!!!:bigthumbsup

Hello ski.dive,
One of the things I like most about thiis forum is people
take the time to pass along tips and hints on what works etc.

Classy thing to do.

I was wondering - did you use some sort of pins for
aligning? I think they make the job a LOT easier.

Thanks for sharing

Yep, the Right Stuff is the only thing my local auto machine shop will use for intakes. They say gather up all the other goop and toss it.

Was there something wrong you could have been doing those first times? I've never used The Right Stuff, and I've never had an intake manifold leak.

I've never used the right stuff, and I've never had an intake leak either, now watch, my next one will leak. lol. Where was the leak, the end seals? And did you retorque the intake as soon as the engine warmed up. Good Luck.

Ive done hundreds of manifolds never had a leak and never heard of the right stuff sealant lol. Any quality "engine" sealant will work. But its good to know that people on here will recommend good quality products they have experienced. I will try it sometime and see if I like it.

I'm in the camp that any quality sealant will work. With that being said, I've heard so much good stuff about The Right Stuff nonethless that I will start using it from now on anyways :yup:

I just don't think it's an absolute necessity. The alternatives are also effective. It's just so possible it might be better than the alternatives though.
