When converting from 3-speed manual to an AOD, do I need to remove the pilot bearing in the end of the crank, or can it stay in there? Also, I have seen some pics of different shields that go between the block and bellhousing. Some have a few openings of different sizes in them, some don't. Mine has no openings except for the crank an starter. Is this okay? I can't find the answers to little questions like this anywhere on the web. Thanks for your replies

pilot bearing needs to come out. two no hole plate is for manual trans so debris doesn't get on clutch. you need one with hole to tighten up the convertor bolts once trans and engine are together. hope this helps.
