Does anyone know of a place that will do a proper alignment on a 1966. I just got new tires and the place I got them says that don't have anyone that "knows how to align this car". So does anyone know of a place that knows how to do it, and knows how to do it right. My old tires were really worn on the inside of them, likely cause is improper camber, need to get it fixed so i won't eat through tires like crazy. Thank you in advance!:nogrinner

For my 05 Mustang, Perry Ford on mile of cars did mine, and did a great job. It was done in 2005 and never had a problem since. They did a force wheel alignment, it was a new machine they got. Talk to Tony Cubero (619) 789-1149 in the service department.

they won't do it either. because of it's age no one at most shops know how to do the alignment on a 1966 mustang. i keep on getting the "no one knows how to align that car here" story...some i had it done once but they didnt fix the camber and didn't seem to know how. it seems with stuff today if they can't plug it into a computer they won't do it. anyone else out there know of any place that will align the wheels of a 1966 289?

Give Dave Turner Motorsports call at (858) 571-3811. They have a mustang shop mostly for the older mustangs. They might be able to tell you where you can get it done at.

There's also a mustang shop in El Cajon, called Mustang Auto. They might be able to help you also.

This is the best I can do for you now. Best of luck.

alignments

I have a 67 and need to get it aligned also. Normally I would ask the guys at DPR where to go, but they closed their doors. I recommend calling my second favorite place (now number one since greg and shaun closed) JMC Motorsport. http://www.jmcmotorsports.com/.

Just never go to the mustang shoppe. I have heard some terrible stories about how they scam people out of their cars. Personally, I have only had one experience with them and I will never go back because of what they did and I would rather pay 10 times as much to go to another shop.

your not the only one to have that happen to. I used to be the Service Manager at MA till they kept screwing people over. I have had some bad experiences at MS before

Thats why my partner and I started our own business instead of purchasing MA as planned. DPR was a great shop, I know Greg and Shaun very well and it is unfortunate that they had to shut the doors. JMC, John and his crew there have a great place, they know the road race circuit very well. Going to JMC is a good thing, maybe someday you'll stop by my shop though:bigthumbsup

If you need transmission work, there's no place like Larry's Transmissions, Call Tony and he'll be glad to help you out. They won't scam you, they'll give you a good price, good customer service and warranty their work.
Yeah it's kinda far away, but it's the only place I will go too and I also live in San Diego (Chula Vista). Yes the trip is worth it. Let him know Ed sent you too.

Perry Ford National City Ripp off

The service Department at Perry Ford National City ripped me off with $379.47 for a timing belt that my car did not need. I only took the car to have the oil changed and a new tire installed and Tony Cubero the service advisor told me that I needed to replace timing belt, injectors and power steering oil. The total bill came out to $769.00 when I could of paid around $300.00 for better service somewhere else. Perry Ford will take advantage specially from woman. They will create panic so that we agree to the repairs. One day after the service was done I found out that the previous owner of the car had replaced the timing belt a year ago so I knew that Perry Ford took advantage of me.

For alignment I take my cars to Lutz Tires and Auto Repair on Market Street. They are great and will not rip you off.

Not sure if your still looking for an alignment still but Clarence Brown Alignment Services is one of the best around they are used by the Corvette Club, Porsche Club, JBA and many other perfomance shops. They've been around for a long time.
