i have a 94 v6 auto, mustang coupe with 293,000kms. im in need of some advice. that little plastic guide that attaches the shifter to the transmission cable broke. the dealership want to charge me for the whole shifter kit ($ 234.00), not including install. would be worth to find this or just replace the whole shifter unit with a aftermarket unit, i was thinking a hurst. if i go with the afermarket shifter, does this include all new linkage as well, or is that sold separately as a kit as well.
any advice would be appreciated...

Hurst are some of the best shifters out there. I install them all the time. If you are going to spend the money go with hurst. Most kits should be a complete kit but they should list what is included in the kit. It should state if it is just the shifter or complete.
