I hope you didn't tear all of that apart just to get the dizzy out! BTW, 'stangs have a timing chain underneath the front cover, tthe belt is to turn the accesories. To answer your question, if you just want to remove the cap, there is a metal clip on either side of it, take a screwdriver and pry them open. If you want to pull the dizzy, there's a 1/2" bolt at the base that needs to be removed, then you can pull it straight out.
well not just the cap the whole thing, ive gotten that and everything else out but the distributor will not pull out
To remove the distributor you just remove the bolt and twist it left and right, it will come out. There is a gear on the bottom that meshes with the camshaft.
The distributor and its O-ring will often seize to the block. That's what happens when you heat and cool the iron block and aluminum distributor over and over and never move the distributor.

Loosen and remove the distributor hold-down and then whack the base of the distributor where it meets the block with a dead-blow hammer and a straight shaft (a foot-long 3/8" rachet extension works well). It may take a while. Some penetrant or a little heat wouldn't hurt.
