I hav an 85 capri with stock ignition except an accell coil
I put a 5.0 motor out of an 00 explorer
It has the gt40p heads and has different plugs from the origional 5.0 motor, will this create a problem with the explorer having had origianaly a coil pack and now just a coil with much less kick
Im assuming I would use plugs for the 00 explorer 5.0
I used my intake and carb, so it was just a long block change basickly

Im still wondering if i would need to change the gap on the plugs, it is breaking up after it gets warm anything over 4k rpm's hard on the gas
I hav replaced the coil, ignition module on the fire wall and the distrobitor is new as of to nights ago

it was very hard to start after driving the car for a while when i relpaced the distrobitor that part is fine now, starts right up

the motor didnt hav a timing pointer on the motor so i am buying that tonight and going to put the timing exactly where it is suppose to be, but i hav timed motors b 4 buy just advancing the timeing till i hear valve chatter and them backing it up just a little to make the valve chatter go away

1 other thing is being with chevy's all my life when i put the distrobetor in I aimed the point to the #1 cly instead of putting it towards the carb where the #1 is on the cap, so instead of putting it where it is suppose to go I moved the wire to match up to the dist. on chevy's it really dont matter as long as the timing is correct but with fords Idk for sure , when i get my timing pointer im going to pull the dist. and put it where it goes exactlyand retime it
would the plug gap hav an affect after the motor warms up also on valve chatter or back fireing out the exhaust, only on hard acceleration tho, driving normaly the cars dosnt miss and runs great

just kinda stumped and could use some help from the ford guys :bigthumbsup
