I'm fairly new to this mustang game here but I have a 99 cobra with h-pipe flows and a diablo delta chip. I put a cold air intake on it Saturday but I am still using my stock pipe down to the stock MAF. It's pretty much just the elbow and a filter. Anyway...i unhooked my batt and everything when i was installing it and when i was done and had everything back together it worked just fine for like 20 miles. the next day i got in and drove for about 3 miles and then it started to resist a little. it was almost like a misfire but the car wasnt chugging...just resisting and losing power. after about 10 miles of this it started running fine again. i should add that i had just turned on my a/c for the first time after the install as well just before it started acting up. and it was all the way through the powerband. I am stationed at Eglin AFB and I am leaving tomorrow in the car going home for thanksgiving so any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks alot

Eglin AFB? I live in Navarre and work in Crestview! Anyways, any time you pull the battery on a Ford, you have to drive for about 10 miles to get the computer's adaptive memeory to "relearn" the fuel and spark curves. If this returns or acts up again after driving for the 10 miles, could be something more to this. Is the check engine light on? If so, get the codes pulled out of it. If you do not have a scanner, stop in at AutZone or Discount Auto, and they will pull the codes for you.
Thanks for the quick reply. No the light hasnt kicked on. The thing that was worrying me is that it worked fine for like 20 miles...ran perfect, and then, it just started acting up.
just in case anyone was wondering....i found out what was wrong with my snake. apparently i had a spark plug coming loose and it finally blew out taking the threads with it when it came outta the head. so there's the problem.
Sounds like someone stripped the threads. I assume it's fixed by now. Your isn't the first. I had some work done on mine and blew a plug on the way to MD from VA, no tools in the car and miles to go. Fixed it 40K miles ago, several sets of plugs and no problems since. Good luck!
