Did the door speaker upgrade today. Door panel came off easily thanks to the JLT youtube video on how to remove it. Figuring out how to mount the crossover box took a lot of time, but it fits where I have it in the photos. I drilled and screwed them to the door.

Crutchfield has the speakers on sale for $139 with free shipping and wire adaptors.

A lot better than stock. I didn't drive with them yet, but putting one in the driver's door and listening to the passenger stock one at the same time, there's a nice difference. Good upgrade for $140.

The Polk was a little louder than the stock at the same level- like maybe 1 or 2 clicks on the volume knob. I haven't cranked them up yet or gone a drive. I'll report back after that.

I wanted high efficiency speakers (these polks are very) in order to maximize the sound from the weak stock power.

According to the specs, they are 2.7 ohm. And they very light- composite basket (like stock) and the ceramic magnet is light too.

I love polk products also, Did you have any problems with the bass rattling the doors inside making it sound like something is loose in your doors before installing! I want to install new speakers in my 11 GT but think whats the use if the door rattling is going to make it sound like crap anyway!! :(

While I had those doors open I woulda put a little B Quiet (on a budget) behind the speaker to lessen the likelihood of rattles. I installed these amp'ed in a Maxima (thought it was with a sub, so these didn't have to push out any thump) and they sounded fantastic - just on the slight side of warm w/ those wonderful dome tweeters that are crisp without being harsh. Great choice.:bigthumbsup
