Thanks for the reply!
As far as the fluid goes, I did use Mercon V ATF.
When I changed the fluid, I'm pretty sure I replaced a significant amount. Every time I turned the car on after a change of fluid I turned the wheels to allow the old and new fluid to mix. Which at first brought the fluid back to a brownish color, so I know it was mixing. After about 5 or 6 times of removing the old fluid and putting in new fluid, the color stayed a nice red color. Even now, a day later, the fluid is still a nice red color.
I am convinced it is something else. Should my next step be to replace the pump?
