Ok guys, i was going to get a NX wet kit for christmas along with catted prochamber and tri-ax. I think i've decided against the nitrous because of how harsh it can eb on your engine and i dont want that then. Im going to keep the prochamber and tri-axe, but what should i get with the other 800 bucks? I just want some more hp

Throw a set of VT stage II or Comp Cams XE270AH cams into the engine and you should pick up about 20 to 40 extra hp. If you have any money left over buy a Accufab throttlebody/plenum combo and have it installed. Accufab claims 11hp on a stock Mustang and more on a modded Mustang. I am running the Accufab 75mm kit and have no problems on my 97 GT PI swap

97 GT 5spd

FRPP PI heads,cams,intake,Tremec TKO tranny,Spec billet aluminum flywheel, Ram powergrip clutch kit, FRPP aluminum driveshaft,Pro 5.0 shifter, Steeda adj. clutch cable,quadrant, firewall adj. kit,BBK ceramic long tubes,BBK short x-pipe w/ cats,Magnaflow Magnapacks exhaust,Accufab 75mm throttlebody/plenum combo,Speed index CAI w/ K&N 9" filter,SCT X-cal tuner,Kenny Brown subframes, SHM strut tower brace, FRPP 13" Cobra brake kit, FRPP 98 Cobra 17x8" rims w/ 255/45 BGF KDWS,Bosch +2 plugs,MSD 8.5 super conductor wires

205hp/273tq w/ headers & exhaust before swap
9.6 @ 79mph in 1/8 mile before swap
253hp/296tq after PI swap & throttlebody kit

03 Cobra 17x9 & 17x10.5 rims waiting to be installed w/ 255/40 & 285/40 Nitto NT555 tires

Where's a good place to get either of those? How much does it cost to get them installed?
Funny how I see quite a few with over 60K on their nitroused cars and one I know has over 100k. If set up right and not sprayed from light to light, they will last.
'fang, I'm pretty sure those cars you mentioned are the exception and not the rule. N2O can be really rough on an engine and one litle backfire through the intake and you're out a whole boatload of money.

:laughlitt How did I NOT know this was coming :laughlitt

Actually these cars are daily driven cars and ran at the strip on the weekends. The 4.6L motor is a pretty stout motor and like I said with a good safe system and not abused the motors will last.
Nitrous

:kooky:
Nitrous is only as dangerous as the person who installed it, uses it, and maintains it. My engine has 95,000 on it and I am upping its dosage. Get your air/fuel ratio checked, make sure you have a great fuel system, and don't use it all of the time. ALL performance mods shorten the life of an engine. Great maintenance is a must for longivity.
i have always been a firm believer and i have grown up around it too, if you maitain your care tuned when everything needs to be checked you can run a long life motor 100K+. just check everything and dont drive your car hard like crazy 24/7.

If you are wanting to gain 1-2 mph on your ET then don't do nitrous and assume its bad. I will gain 10+ mph and do it knowing it's safe for the car if its installed and tuned right
NX Ford EFI kit w/ Gen 2 upgrade, Window switch, NGK TR6 plugs gapped @ .035 and you are set for a 100 shot and that will last.
The best price for the Comp Cams are Holcomb Motorsports out of NC. They have the cams for $529.00 and can usually get the cams to you in 3 days or less depending on where you are. VT engines has their own website so you would have to check with them on the price. I have heard good and bad things about both companys on their cams. Some have problems with valve clearance on the Comp Cams and the VT cams never make the power that other companys can with theirs. I know of a fellow that installed a PI kit on his 96 Mustang (auto) with a set of VT cams and barely made 255hp and I made 253 with the stock PI cams but I have a 5spd so I know that made a difference.

I would agree with dalla02GT. You may as well start with the basics, because if the bug has bit, your not going to stop.
I started with gears and pullies and here is my list to date:

AND, I am far from done.
