Now that is cool! Proud to see the '11+ 5.0 Mustang will be among the first to have this available. I won't be able to afford it for years, though.
id say its going to be atleast 7-10k for just the supercharger alone, not including any fittings, piping, or supporting mods such as the tune and injectors.

^^ Plus a built motor. :(

Well right now Procharger kits are about $5200. I personally don't see it rising much above $7000. Procharger kits for our cars are not that complex and extremely clean installs. No cutting period. Some have even done the whole install in an afternoon. I think it's a great kit. The placement of the air intake just gives me the willies but then again, many turbochargers aren't much better...

this is definitely a game changer, imagine in 3-5 years this will become a standard oem item for boosted cars from the factory

but current kits aren't computer controlled and as complex like this.

Very true but we'll have to see. They need to be competitive too.
It looks like it uses the variable diameter metal sheeve belt system used in CVT designs. Interesting. Torque load wouldn't be the issue, but I wonder how that drive will perform long term with that kind of RPM?

It'd probably be a lot less sensitive to cold operation than the gear drive setups though. Due to the tight clearances and backlash settings needed to withstand the insane RPM they turn, several centri manufactures state that they cannot be used below about 20F without risking catastrophic failure upon start up from the gears binding and letting go.

I didn't know that. It's definitely possible to hit that temp here and my car is a DD. Doesn't sound like a good combination. Any place to read more on this?

Vortech and Paxton are two of them for sure. Check out the bold typed blurb in there street blower owners manual:

Owner Manuals | Vortech Superchargers

They even go so far as to say it isn't warrantable if it fails due to start up in cold ambient temps.

No way this will be close to 10K,

for close to 10k you can get TT set up installed and tuned with boost controller...

As far as i understand this is basically digital boost controller on a SC set up.
