I have an 87 GT that is very hard to start when cold. When it does crank it runs like it is starving for fuel. I pulled the codes and I got a 34 and an 82. I know these codes relate to the emissions. I'm going to remove the EGR and the remainder of smog related equipment. Will this becausing my hard starts and power loss?

Could be the EGR-PFE (presure feedback sensor), just replace it. Dont remove the EGR, gas recirculation actually HELPS burn the fuel more efficiently. The smog pump only draws a couple of HP from the engine, not worth removing for a daily driver.

Check all the basics, tuneup, fuel pressure, condition of vacuum hoses.
Did you pull the Engine Running codes?

Either code shouldn't cause a hard/no start problem. As Meangreen92 suggests, FP and vacuum issues (yours is still Speed Density system, right?) would. Second the KOER codes check. GL
