I am in the process of buying a 2008 Mustang GT CS Grabber Orange, it has about 50k and really looks good. I uploaded a picture. Its selling here in Canada for 25000, which is the standard cost for this model up here.

Problems, I have noticed little bubbles in the paint at the front end of the hood, probably rust but its under the paint still. Another bigger issue perhaps is that the passenger door is not exactly the same color as the rest, its really close but not the same, meaning perhaps an accident occurred. The dealer says he did not notice anything as has no knowledge, but he will check it out.

What should I do negotiate or walk away.

Thanks in advance

Personally i love the color and everything, But i would walk away on this one. Those bubbles will only lead to more money being spent down the road. Also i wouldnt want a car that has been wrecked or in an accident before personally, but thats just me.

I would walk away from that paint, unless you want to repaint the whole car. I would look for another, plenty out there.

Well they said they would call me back with answer concerning what they would do to fix the issue. Also up here there is almost no grabber orange GT anywhere.

I know what you mean about the grabber orange. I only found one in my area and it was way too much for me

The CS doesn't come with a black hood so are you sure it's paint and not black vinyl on the hood. Someone added that. As for the door, if it is only that door that was damaged it should be OK, but then I guess who knows. That's a lot of money for unknowns.

the mismatch paint could also it always parked in a spot outside where sun only hits one side of the car, or it got keyed and was resprayed, any number of causes.

Well, in the US, I'd say maybe 18k (just basing it off of my 05) but even then, it's still leaving a lot left to answer. I'd walk away and look for another because the car has probably been in an accident. Just keep looking or maybe come to the states to get it.

I bought the car, negociated down to 23000 and got them to repair the hood of rust and got the side fixed to paint match. The Carfax returned with a scratch on the door. I learned afterwards that it had flowmaster exhaust, 4.10 and SCT tune. Got all the stock stuff and SCT tuner included. Very happy with the purchase the Sound is Amazing cannot wait for Summer.

Im not trying to bumm you out but the Paint Bubbling on the Hood will come back. It's not rust it's Corrosion caused by metal dust getting under the seam on the Aluminum Hood, it's a common problem on the 05-09 Mustangs and it happened at the Factory. The only way to stop it is to get a New Aftermarket Hood. I too am a Big Fan of Grabber Orange and it's a Nice Looking Stang:bigthumbsup But why did'nt you come to the States and look for one, Im sure you would have saved a Bunch. Good Luck though and Have Fun

23000 bucks is a lot of money for one with 50k miles.

Sorry to hear about the paint bubbling. These cars do have some known paint issues, though. Mine has the bubbling hood paint problem, but it's on the underside of the hood and not on the outside, thank God. I've also had small clearcoat peel issues on the bumpers and paint peel on the door handle, two other common paint problems with these cars.
