Push on oil cap and K & N air filter

I use a push on oil cap on a 302 .030 bored. How often should it be replaced? Should add 5W-30 to the new one or simply install it without adding any oil to the sponge?

Should I replace the K&N airfilter or keep cleaning the current one? I don't know how long the current one has been in there. I don't see any damage or signs of wear on the current one, but not sure how to really evaluate its condition.

thank you,

The oil in the filler cap is from blowby. Most of us try to clean it out instead of adding more to it.

The K&N filters are meant to be cleaned and reused nearly forever.
