putting crank in 331

I started this thread to find out if putting crank in for a 331 do you have to use a mic or plastic gauge
when i built my stock 5.0 together crank had no slack i put it together and still going. Someone told me 302 dont have to be miced so did i get lucky or is it as simple as that

you should mic he crank journals and the main caps with the bearings in. Subtract the difference and thats your bearing clearance. off the top of my head I wanna say it should be .002-.005. Then after everything looks good, plastigauge it just for good measure.
