I have all factory speakers & the factory head stereo unit. (Not the Mach system or whatever)

I have 2 12" subwoofers and was curious as to how much it would cost to put just 1 subwoofer in and if my head unit can handle it.

I only have the subs, no wires, boxes, or anything else.

Also, how much would it cost 2 get both in?

Thanks.

What i would do is upgrade to a new headunit, or you can get a line out converter and use your stock one. Then i would go to an audio shop and talk to them about making you a box that will fit for one or two subs. And as for the speakers, it wouldnt hurt to upgrade them.
Just a few questions-

If you do choose to upgrae the headunit, do you want a single or double din?

And what kind of sub do you have?

In all honesty, it's not hard to put a sub system in yourself if you're skilled with electronics at all. You will need to get a box for your 2 12" subs, i will tell you, do not go cheap on the box, or it will sound like S**t. A box will help you get the best sound out of it. Also, i didn't read if you had an amp or not, look up what your RMS rating on the subs are and find an amp that will put out a big enough RMS for the two subs. You will need wire for the subs, ground, power, whatever the red wire is called that you put into your head unit. It's all fairly easy. You'll have to most likely drill through your firewall to put your subs in, but once again, it isn't that hard to do. Then you'll have to run it through the center console and into the back of your car. Then the rest is basically the same except with the red wire that your run from your head unit to your amp, the 2 Cables that you plug into the red and white slots in the headunit into the amp and connecting the amp and sub with radio wire. Sorry if this didn't really help at all, i've had a bad day and i'm trying to act smart haha. If you need any help or anything feel free to PM me or something. Because i'll be more help when i'm actually functional, since it's 2AM here at the moment, i'm surprised i'm even up.
