Pypes True Dual Exhaust vs Flowmaster American Thunder

It depends on the sound you want. The American Thunders will be louder, probably a little more drone on the highway but really sick sounding under acceleration. The Pypes will be cool too, a little more subdued... Depends on if your going for sleeper or all out muscle.

You can go hear the sounds of the various mufflers on Americanmuscle.com!!! Choose which one you like best.

I have the pypes true duals with pypes violator mufflers. It sounds awesome under acceleration but there is quite a bit of drone. Pypes kit is a great starter for your exhaust is you think you might upgrade stuff later on. Now, if you want more bang for your buck, you might look into getting a tuner and CAI combo. This is a great first mod. It won't make your car any louder, but it'll give you a little more get up and go. And then when you get exhaust later on, you'll be really happy with your car.

I have the pypes on the 07 Gt and after 4 years they are finally getting louder, But it is the wifes car and it just hit 30,000 miles on it. They have a good sound now.

I was looking for all out muscle. I do have a BBK CAI but i have to wait later on for the tuner. I was trying to get the power first then back it up with the tuner later haha. Which one sounds less "ricey"?

The tuner will give you more power than the exhaust.

I would go with the Bama SF3 tuner as your next mod, honestly. It will give you more power and throttle response than any aftermarket exhaust by far. I think you'll be very happy with a SF3 tuner since your Mustang will be running healthier than ever and at its peak performance!

That being said, if you still want an exhaust system I completely understand. I think you should go with the Pypes Dual exhaust system. It has a nice deep rumble and has that classic American Muscle V8 tune. It's the most affordable/best sounding exhaust for the 4.0 IMO!

Hmmm guess exhaust will be birthday present. Guess the tuner it is for Christmas!
