I have a 1965 and am going to do a power disk brake upgrade and need to upgrade to a 15x7 wheel. It has 14x7 on it now and I want to do a 15x7 front and 15x8 rear. Does anyone have this setup on a 65 and would I have problems with tire clearance? Also what tire size would you recommend for the 15x7/15x8? Would a 1 inch width differance make a big differance or should I just stick with the 15x7 on all 4 corners? Thanks in advance.

I run 15x7 all round with 225/60 tyres.
I had to roll the rear guards to get clearence.

You should be fine. There are a lot of people running 17x7's on the front including me. I also have 17x8 on the rear, so I believe the combination you are thinking about will do fine. I like a wider wheel in the back too. It looks really good from the back.

Thanks guys, I still haven't made my mind up yet, but I'm leaning towards the 15x7 all around with a 225/60/15 tire...or 50 if I can find one.

yea i have 15x7's and i run 20560's in the front and 225 60's in the rear. no clearance problems at all
