on a 98, you won't gain anything over a drop in. At most you'll get 7 hp with a CAI, you already get 5-6 with a K&N drop in.MylilPony said:yesterday i went to an autoparts store by my house and they had a k & n air filter for my 98 v6 for 45 bucks... i was going to buy it but i was thinking of doing a cold air intake for the car..... i also hear that these "drop-in filters" are just as good as a CAI..... I want an increase in HP and fuel efficiency.... please let me know the good and bad of each,,, and if there are better filters/CAI........
also, anyone know where to get an owners manual for my car for a good price?
If you like the eye candy, get a CAI, but they won't do anything unless and until you get the intake ported.
you'll pick up a few mpg with either, but you'll lose mpg on cold days with a CAI.
