Question about battery

927 Views 4 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Monkey Boy
I know that the battery is used primarily on startup, but if the alternator isnt charging the battery, will the car still run fine untill it is shut off? And then not restart correct?

Or will the car still die if the battery goes dead while driving?

If the alternator isn't recharging the battery then the car will die before long.
Give us some more details on your problem so we can better serve you.

I was just curious if the car would still run even with a dead battery or if it would stall out.
If the battery is dead but the alternator is good, it will still run but it won't start. If the alternator is bad and the battery is good, the car will run off the battery until it drains it down and dies.
