I have a 96 mustang gt and im looking into doing the PI swap.
When I do the swap I am also wanting to port the heads, get the trickflow trackheat intake, bigger throttle body, CAI, and shorty headers. If I do all of this would it be a good idea to upgrade my fuel system to keep up with all the mods, or will my stock system be fine with it. If i do need to upgrade my fuel system, what should I get?
you should be fine on the fuel system, at most you would need to up the fuel injector size a little bit. is that track heat intake an aluminum piece? in my opinion they arent worth the money, unless your planning on a big boost application.
Your fuel system needs are going to depend on the amount of porting done. If your porting without doing the other steps to optimize your tuning, you just waisted your cash. People talk about porting or porting and polishing like it's as simple as changing a tire. It's not ! After porting, a flow bench test is an absolute must. A quality performance machine shop will use these results to optimize and calculate the proper valve size, cam lift and fuel/air cfm rate needed to get the most out of your engine. If your not prepared to make this kind of investment, you may want to look at after market head/intake combo that will optimize your o.e.m. Components. Good luck.
