Hey Everyone,

I'm new here. I'm looking at buying a 2011 Mustang GT C/S and had a question on the seats. My girlfriend is short (5'1" on a good day) and apparently has trouble seeing out of the passenger side window (we learned this while driving around in a rental). Has anyone else run into this problem with someone riding shotgun and, is there an easy solution or do I just need to tell her to suck it up and let me buy the car?

Disclaimer: I can buy the car anyway, but when/if she becomes my wife, I thought I should see if anyone else had run into this. Thanks!

I do believe that without the power seat options the passenger seat sits a few inches lower than the drivers. I know there was a thread on here about someone taking out the seat and they had installed a couple of risers to make them equal.

Good luck!

The passenger seats are too low on these Mustangs, unless you have the comfort package which includes the electronic adjustable passenger seat.

However, I've noticed that on the manual one, as you move it closer to the front, it does rise a little. But still, if this is an issue for you, be sure to get a comfort package equipped car.

I have a base 2011 3.7 and my wife and I have this same issue. My wife is 5,3 and can't see over the dash at all, in fact we almost didn't buy the car because of it, but I had to man up and say "babe, I drive this car 7 days a week, you are in it MAYBE 1 of those days, deal with it!"

I don't know about the power seat options, but in the base model, it only goes back and forth.

Isn't the passenger not being able to see a good thing? Just kidding! :winks

Like the fellas said, cruise into a dealer and try on one outfitted with the comfort package as a power passenger seat will probably do the trick.

Awesome stuff, thanks guys. I wasn't able to get in touch with the person I had been dealing with to ask if it has the comfort package, but the website says it does. If all goes well in a couple weeks I will join you fine people as a Mustang owner. A dream come true!

I'm five foot nothing and it was one of the few things hubby and I argued about when I bought the car. Since I drive it almost all the time I control the driver seat height, etc. , but when I do need to ride ***** and let him drive, I can't put my arm up on the door sill or almost see out the side. I wanted the comfort package because of the electric passenger seat but he thought it was overpriced and we didn't need the heated seat feature because we don't drive it in winter. Wish I had it when I'm riding shotgun though!

Following the leasing of a Stang Vert in Florida this past January, my wife insisted on adding the Comfort Package to our car order to raise the shot gun seat. We went to a Florida dealer and tested the passenger seat controls since the seat in the leased car was totally unacceptable and the lectric seat is great.

The heat is great too, even on a mild day before golf since it "warms me up" before even getting out of the car.
I like it on cool eventings, top down, heat on, and seats heat turned up too.

Hey WarEagle007,

My name is Deysha with Ford Customer Service. Welcome to the forum! Like the other members stated, your girl friend should be ok, as long as the vehicle has the comfort package. She’ll be able to raise the seat up and see out of the window. (I’ve tested it, I’m the same height:winks). I hope everything works out for you and you can become an official Mustang owner.:yup::bigthumbsup

Comfort package FTW! She can raise the shotgun seat up to where she wants it and you will be amazed at how much you use the heated seat option. I thought it would be a waste of wiring but I'm glad I have it.

Seriously. It could be 85 degrees out and my fiance is still using it.

Passenger seat is indeed very low. Every time a short person rides with me (like my best friend) and including my own girlfriend, they complain that they can´t see a thing, and that the dash and hood are way up there!

I don´t care...
