I'm looking into getting a CAI system installed in my 2005 V6 Auto Mustang, but I've noticed something that I have a question about. It may not make any difference at all, but I have seen that CAI systems can either be made of High Density Polyethylene or Aluminum with a chrome finish. Does one material perform better than the other, and is one more durable than the other? Or is it simply personal preference based on looks or something along those lines? For example, the BBK CAI for '05-'09 V6's is Aluminum and the Airaid and K&N (I think) are made from the polyethylene. Please help me out if you know the answer. Thanks.
IATs might be a little lower with plastic but you'd never notice because the IAT sensor is located before the airtube.
