Questions About Lowering my Car

3278 Views 16 Replies 11 Participants Last post by  SoonerSteve
I have a 2011 GT with the Brembo package that I was thinking about lowering. I have a few questions that I was hoping someone could help me with.

I would really like to level the car out and was thinking about using the Eibach Pro Kit 1" up front and 1.5" in back. Has anyone done this and if so would you mind posting pics? Has anyone who has done something similar had any clearance issues? How much rougher of a ride will come from this? Lastly, are there any other kits that someone would recommend for getting the level look?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Steve

Personally i didnt chose eibach for many reasons (past experience specifically).

check my signature for what i have (also on a brembo car). Car now handles like its on rails. In addition to better handling some components (LCA/UCA) will also help traction on hard launchs.

just my 2 cents
How is the stance? Does it sit pretty level? How far did you drop it in the front and back?
I ordered the eibach pro springs and dampers and just changed my mind... I did a bit more research and decided to go with Steeda Sports and Koni springs/struts... this has a 1" front and 1.25" rear drop. A lot of people are satisfied with this setup.

I think the ultralites are a 1.25 front and 1.5 rear drop...

I have Eibach Pro kit with Koni STR.T shocks and the ride is nice. It's firmer than stock but not harsh at all.I went with a taller tire then you have with the Brembo pkg 245/45/19 so my car looks lower then 1"ft and 1.5 rear

You won't have any clearance issues, but you should buy an adjustable pan hard bar to center the rear end. It will be shifted to the side after the drop. Our adjustable bar is very nice for only $149: 2005-2011 Ford Mustang Pro Street Double Adjustable Pan Hard Bar - UPR Products

You should also have the front end aligned after the drop, but chances are it'll only be a minor toe adjustment.

damn close to level now.. wish i had a pic of it on here. (pics are old on my comp) ill try to snap one this weekend for you
I have the Eibach Pro lowering kit. Springs only. It dropped her 1.25 inches up front and 1.5 in the back...The ride is much firmer and less "bouncy". Which is exactly what i wanted. Its not harsh at all. My CD player doesn't skip when i hit bumps for example.

I have 19 inch wheels also. Looks like the pro-kit gives it a decent drop without looking "slammed". Any issues bottoming out?
frpp k springs are a good choice also
I just did the Eibach Pro kit yesterday and im really happy with them. I will try to get some pics up soon. The ride is great, real pleased overall.

Thanks

Brian
Sorry I have been busy and haven't been able to get on here for a while. Thank you all for your posts and pictures. They all look great and thats why I want to lower mine. I missed out on a opportunity to but a steeda kit used but hopefully will make up my mind soon. Just bought a cat back system so I need to replenish my car funds.

I just installed the eibach pro kit. Love my stance and ride is still great. Easy to install and not too low to where you scrap on everything. Good luck.
Thats good to hear. Hopefully I do my soon. When I do I will post some pics.
