Is it considered "straight pipes" when you just cut off the muffler? or when you cut it out and weld another normal pipe replacing the muffler?

It can be thought of two ways. Striaght as in no H or X pipe. Or straight as in no H or X pipe and No mufflers. The last one is the True straight pipe. so it cane depend on who you talk to.

Straight pipes mean from the headers to the tailpipe tips, with no muffler.
