Im no electrical Genius but the Shaker Stereos volume would get louder when you went faster in your car, I guess this is so you could hear it better as you went faster. Anyways mabey something with this is causing your after market raido to shut off, it's trying to increase your volume and it shuts it off because it's a different stereo than the factory one. This is a off the wall guess, let us know if you figure it out. This is the stuff that happens when everything today is run off the cars PCM.hey guys, im 16 and just bought my first car (2005 v6), i have done some odds and ends modifications as well as some stereo system work.. My problem is that *only when accelerating* my radio shuts off on at even low volumes.
elaborate on "some stereo system work"hey guys, im 16 and just bought my first car (2005 v6), i have done some odds and ends modifications as well as some stereo system work.. My problem is that *only when accelerating* my radio shuts off on at even low volumes.
i just re-read your first post...... are you saying your sony headunit completely powers off when a bass note hits?#1fordlover, that is called speed control volume, my aftermarket stereo is equipt to handle this input, although I have it turned off. I have ruled that out as a cause
Funkboy316, I added a Sony head unit, along with a 1000 watt amp and 2 12" subwoofers in a sealed enclosure. The amp is new an has a protective thermal/overload switch, along with 2 LEDs to tell me the status of the amp, and it has remained green during this issue.
I'll do that tomorrow. If the ground isn't the problem, I guess I'll be getting a HO alternator. Thanks.

you need to check the output first, im not convinced its your alt. Im still going with bad ground.Between my additional amp and the factory shaker system, I'm probably overdrawing the alternator.. I'll goto my local electric shop and have it rewound.
