2011 Mustang GT 70k miles. Noticed it starts to slightly “tick” every 5-6 seconds from the top of the engine. It doesn’t increase with engine speed either. Sounds similar to the click when the fan kicks on. It’s really worrying me. Is there a way to post video on here?

While you’re figuring out the video, can you describe the ticking better? If it doesn’t increase with RPM, it doesn’t seem like it’s a disaster to be worried about. Just need to isolate it.

It’s like: tick…………… tick tick………….. tick…………. tick tick………………………….. tick. It seams to kind of stop after I do a wot pull. Then comes back later.

If you know where the tensioner pulley is listen in that area.

The thing is, this is my first time ever hearing this happen. It doesn’t sound constant like I’ve read about the coyote tick.

Update- I put Liqui Moly Cera Tec in the crank case and the tick is gone.
