Rattle in '05 GT Premium (Roush)...

I have owned a 2005 Roush Mustang for the past two years. Almost since the day I purchased the vehicle I have been trying to find a rattle in it. It happens when I accelerate and when the RPM is around 2500 to 3000. I have tried using self tapping screws on the heat shields to screw them against the body and that didn’t work. I have also checked for missing bolts all along the chassis and the dust cover on the transmission. I even went as far as having the transmission mount replaced. I don’t know what is causing this rattle, but it’s driving me insane. If you have any suggestions on what it could be, please reply to this post or email me. Thank you for your time.

Rattle under car

Is this noise only when the car is cold and goes away warm ?

It may be the metal plate between engine block and trans.

There are also other things in Technical Service Bulletins related to similar noises which it could be.

At this time I cannot find some of those TSBs in the list on this forum as they seem to be missing or blank.

TSB l lst talked about is 8-3-4 "Buzz, Oil Canning Noise" ( and it is missing)

If it is that problem there is an easy fix I used for it. Let me know.

This is my thread when I had the problem...there are others...one just recently..I have not looked for that one

when i bought my bullitt used i had a rattle that i couldn't put my finger on at 3k+ rpm at WOT, it was driving me nuts too. I brought it to the dealership and had a tech drive with me and he said that it was the exhaust pipes touching the underbody of the car. he was telling me that the only reason why it happens at WOT is because the torque of the engine/tranny slightly raises the exhaust pipes and they cause a fast past rattle for a split second. the reason why i couldnt pinpoint where the rattle was coming from was because it was resonating throughout the exhaust making it sound like it was coming from the front/firewall of the car. now i don't know how accurate this is but it doesn't effect the car, so i guess i have to believe him, hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies, I will definately have these checked out. I'll also post what solution(s) was used, if any. Thanks again.
